Troubleshooting Quick Reference
Why Your DJI Controller Will Not Pair
1. Confirm the controller generation. OcuSync 2.0, O3, O4, and O4+ hardware cannot be assumed interchangeable. Check the controller row above before relinking.
2. Update both aircraft and controller firmware. A supported controller can still fail if the drone, controller, or DJI Fly app is on an older firmware branch.
3. Check account binding. Used drones and controllers may be bound to a previous DJI account. Remove binding before attempting a clean pairing.
4. Use the correct DJI app. DJI Fly, DJI GO 4, Pilot, and enterprise apps support different product families.
5. Inspect cable, phone, and port issues. RC-N controllers rely on the connected mobile device, so a damaged USB cable or blocked phone permission can look like a controller failure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which DJI controller works with Mini 4 Pro? The DJI Mini 4 Pro uses the O4 controller family, including DJI RC-N2, DJI RC-N3, DJI RC 2, and compatible DJI RC Pro 2 firmware where supported.
Can one controller work with all DJI drones? No. DJI controllers are tied to specific transmission generations and product families, so one controller cannot pair with every Mini, Air, Mavic, Phantom, FPV, and enterprise drone.
Why will my DJI drone not pair? The most common causes are a wrong controller model, firmware mismatch, DJI account binding, the wrong app, or a damaged cable or controller port.
Can O3 controllers work with O4 drones? In general, O3 controllers such as DJI RC-N1, DJI RC, and DJI RC Pro should not be treated as O4 controller replacements. Use the aircraft's listed O4 controller family.
