Discontinued Drones

The DJI Phantom 1 was introduced in January 2013. DJI officially discontinued support and services for the Phantom 1 and its accessories on February 1, 2019.
Regarding firmware, specific version details for the Phantom 1 are not readily available. However, firmware updates for this model were typically managed through the DJI Assistant software. Given the discontinuation of support, accessing official firmware updates may now be challenging.

The DJI Phantom 2 was introduced on December 16, 2013. DJI officially discontinued maintenance and technical support for the Phantom 2 (2.4G) and its accessories on September 30, 2022.
The latest firmware version for the Phantom 2 is v3.14. Notably, updating to this version may restrict the use of non-OEM batteries. The Phantom 2 Assistant Software, used for firmware updates and configurations, is available for download but is no longer receiving updates

The DJI Phantom 3 Standard was released on August 5, 2015.
DJI officially discontinued maintenance and technical support for the Phantom 3 series, including the Standard model, on January 5, 2023.
The latest firmware version for the Phantom 3 Standard is v1.9.20, released on June 29, 2017.
The DJI Phantom 3 Advanced was released in April 2015.
The latest firmware version for the Phantom 3 Advanced is v1.11.20, released on July 6, 2017
The DJI Phantom 3 Professional was released in April 2015.

The DJI Phantom 4 Standard was released in March 2016.
The latest firmware version for the Phantom 4 Standard is v01.09.00.00, released on May 19, 2020.
To update your Phantom 4 Standard’s firmware:
- Using DJI Assistant 2:
- Download and install DJI Assistant 2 from DJI’s official website.
- Connect your Phantom 4 Standard to your computer using a USB cable.
- Launch DJI Assistant 2 and log in with your DJI account.
- Select your Phantom 4 Standard from the connected devices.
- Click on “Firmware Update” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
- Using DJI GO 4 App:
- Ensure you have the latest version of the DJI GO 4 app installed on your mobile device.
- Power on your Phantom 4 Standard and connect it to your mobile device.
- Open the DJI GO 4 app. If a firmware update is available, a prompt will appear.
- Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to update the firmware.

DJI Spark – The latest firmware versions for the DJI Spark, released on July 19, 2018, are:
- Aircraft Firmware: v01.00.1000
- Remote Controller Firmware: v01.00.0600
- DJI GO 4 App: iOS v4.2.22, Android v4.2.21
This update added compatibility for using an OTG cable to connect the Spark remote controller with an Android mobile device.
To update your DJI Spark’s firmware, you can use the DJI GO 4 app or the DJI Assistant 2 software. Ensure your drone and remote controller are fully charged before starting the update process.
If your DJI Spark IMU is not calibrating and showing Error 50, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure a Level Surface
- Place the Spark on a completely flat and stable surface during calibration.
- Avoid metal surfaces or areas with strong electromagnetic interference.
- Restart and Retry
- Restart the drone and the DJI GO 4 app.
- Try the IMU calibration again from the app.
- Cool Down the Drone
- If the Spark is warm, let it cool down before attempting calibration.
- Update Firmware
- Ensure your drone is running the latest firmware using DJI Assistant 2 on a PC/Mac.
- If already updated, try refreshing the firmware.

3DR solo – The 3DR Solo drone was officially discontinued after 3D Robotics (3DR) exited the consumer drone marketaround 2016-2017. The last official firmware updates were:
- Solo Firmware: v2.4.2
- Controller Firmware: v2.4.2
- Solo Battery Firmware: v1.5.0
- Solo Gimbal Firmware: v1.3.0
Since 3DR stopped supporting the Solo, the Open Solo project (a community-led effort) took over development. Open Solo 4.0 is the latest custom firmware, improving performance and adding new features.
It has compatibility with ArduPilot. However, finding replacement parts and batteries is becoming increasingly difficult.

The Yuneec Q500 4K was discontinued 2018-19, as Yuneec shifted focus to newer models like the Typhoon H series.
Latest Official Firmware Versions:
- Q500 4K Aircraft: v1.07
- ST10+ Controller: v1.08
- CGO3 Camera: v2.4.00 (last known)
Since Yuneec has stopped producing and supporting the Q500 4K, firmware updates are no longer available through official channels. However, users still maintain and modify these drones, and firmware files can sometimes be found through community forums. beware these updates could cause problems due to the fact its hobbyist creating them.
While the Q500 4K is still functional, availability of spare parts, batteries, and customer support is limited.
